Why Choose The Legacy at Home

The Legacy at Home is a trusted and important part of the Dallas/Ft. Worth community. Our parent organization, The Legacy Senior Communities, has been serving seniors since 1953. But if you’re looking for reasons to choose us over another provider, that’s only the beginning.

As a faith-based, non-profit organization, The Legacy at Home, is dedicated to what matters to you: the health and well-being of you and your loved ones. In order to reach that goal every day, we provide a full range of home health services to accommodate a wide variety of people, situations and families – from skilled nursing and rehabilitation covered by Medicare and private insurance, to personal care services including assistance with daily living, transportation, and companionship.  In addition, we are extremely selective in our hiring practices.  Only people who share our core values are selected to become part of our team.

Will family members be taught about the care that I receive?

Yes. Part of the process for home health care involves instructing family members or caregivers about patient care. Our medical team will provide instruction on a variety of issues related to patient care so that you can safely assist your loved one every step of the way.

How do I know if home health care is right for me?

Our services are available on an insurance or private-pay basis, and we are always available to discuss your needs or answer any questions you may have.

In order for home health care to be covered by private insurance or Medicare, these basic requirements need to be met:

1.)   The patient must be confined to the home and be in need of skilled services.

2.)   The patient must be under the care of a physician and receive services under a plan of care established and periodically reviewed by a physician.

3.)   The patient has had a face-to-face consultation related to the primary reason he or she requires home health care services with a physician no more than 90 days prior to the start of home health services.
