The Legacy at Home is a trusted and important part of the Dallas/Fort Worth senior care community. Our parent organization, The Legacy Senior Communities, has been serving seniors since 1953. As a faith-based, non-profit organization, The Legacy at Home is dedicated to what matters to you: the health and wellbeing of you and your loved ones. In order to reach that goal every day, we provide a full range of home health services to accommodate a wide variety of individuals, circumstances, and families—from skilled nursing and rehabilitation, which is covered by Medicare and private insurance, to personal care services including assistance with daily living, transportation, and companionship. In addition, we are extremely selective in our hiring practices. Only those who share our core values are chosen to become part of our team.
Hospice is a gift, a concept of caring rather than a specific setting, and a benefit free to you through Medicare. A hospice diagnosis can bring so many questions, fears, and anxieties. The Legacy at Home Hospice brings decades of experience and a wealth of resources to provide high quality, patient- and family-centered care wherever the patient calls home. The purpose of hospice is not to cure, but to care.
The Legacy at Home provides a full range of services that set the standard for care: personal assistance services, home health care, and hospice. From short-term rehabilitation services to longer-term personal care, support, and assistance, we offer individualized care to help seniors recover, stay strong, and remain independent.
The Midtown Park health care center has contracts with Medicare and Medicaid, along with other private insurance providers, to offer a wide range of payment options. Assisted living and memory support are a private pay arrangement, but are licensed for long-term care insurance plans. The Legacy at Home, our licensed home health care agency, accepts Medicare as well as other private pay insurance providers and private pay.

The Legacy Midtown Park is an extraordinary luxury rental senior living community that provides a premier quality urban living experience in the heart of North Dallas. Our community offers independent living apartment homes and assisted living and memory support residences. The community also features an on-site health care center—a full continuum of care all on one campus.
The Legacy Midtown Park is a luxury rental community. Residents pay a monthly fee (or rent) as well as a small, nonrefundable community fee upon moving into the community. Monthly fees vary according to apartment size, features, and location, and start at approximately $3,500. The Legacy Midtown Park community features all the latest amenities and services that seniors are looking for, including more choices, more creativity, extensive wellness and fitness options, and many dining options, from casual eateries to fine dining. Because a large entry fee is not required, rental community residents appreciate the financial control that a rental agreement provides.
The Legacy Midtown Park is owned and operated by The Legacy Senior Communities and expands upon the success of The Legacy Willow Bend. The Legacy Senior Communities is Dallas’ only Jewish-sponsored, not-for-profit senior living provider, and Midtown Park is the only not-for-profit rental community in the DFW metroplex.
The amount of your monthly fee is based on the residence you choose. Monthly fees include: a generous meal plan, interior and exterior maintenance of the residence, all utilities (including WiFi), 24-hour emergency call systems, concierge services, transportation, weekly housekeeping, and a robust social calendar, as well as access to all community amenities, underground parking, additional storage spaces, common areas, and priority access to all levels of health care services.
If you ever require services in our health care areas, then you will always have preference over non-resident applicants for available openings. This is an important aspect of life at a Legacy Community. Residents and their family members have peace of mind, knowing that if future health care services are ever needed, they are available right on campus.
In addition to independent living neighborhoods, The Legacy Midtown Park offers the following health care services neighborhoods: assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing and rehab. The Legacy Willow Bend is a Type A Life Care retirement community, which means a significant tax deduction that changes from year to year. The Internal Revenue Service has generally held that a portion of your entrance fee and your monthly service fees can be considered for a medical tax deduction when paid in connection with obtaining lifetime care. The deductibility of these expenses is provided for in Section 213 of the Internal Revenue Code. Taxpayers are entitled to the medical expense deduction in the tax year in which either the entrance fee or the monthly service fees are paid, subject to limitations. Many residents find that this deduction—especially when added to deductions for prescription medicines and charitable contributions—allows them to itemize their taxes for the first time in many years. To determine which deductions may apply to you, it is best to talk with a tax adviser.
Yes. At The Legacy Willow Bend, you can choose from two different entrance fee plans. One plan refunds 90% of the entrance fee according to the terms and conditions of your residency agreement. Residents who choose the 90% refundable plan can count their refund as their asset, and even draw down on that refund if they fall upon financial hardships. Another option is a non-refundable plan that amortizes monthly until a 0% refund is due.
Life Care refers to the type of residential agreement offered at our community. The Life Care residency agreement promises that independent living residents will have predictably low, locked-in rates on future health care offered on campus. So, whether a resident moves to assisted living, memory support, or skilled nursing care, they will pay the Life Care rate, which can be up to half off posted rates for those areas. With this kind of financial protection, Willow Bend independent living residents and their family members have peace of mind, knowing that their future health care expenses will have no sharp increases. A Life Care plan means having a secure plan for the future, and The Legacy Willow Bend is the only retirement community in Plano offering this approach to retirement planning.
Many long-term care insurance policies work together with Life Care and pay earned benefits directly back to the holder. Typically, this coverage extends to assisted living, skilled care, and memory support. Because the cost of long-term care at The Legacy Willow Bend is already low due to Life Care, many residents with long-term care insurance end up paying nothing out of pocket when they move to a long-term care neighborhood. Every policy is different, however, so it is a good idea to check with your policyholder about how your policy would benefit you at The Legacy Willow Bend.
Living at a Life Care community can provide considerable tax benefits that exceed those of owning a home. A portion of both the entry fee and ongoing monthly fees that are paid while living at a Life Care community may be deducted as prepaid medical expenses. Consult your personal tax advisor to discuss your specific tax situation.
