A resident moved into The Legacy several years ago with her husband. After he passed, she remained in her apartment, and The Legacy at Home Personal Assistance Services would come throughout the week to assist her. The resident and her caregiver developed a deep relationship over the years. The resident lived alone but was never truly alone thanks to this companionship. The resident transitioned on to The Legacy at Home Hospice, but her Personal Assistance Services caregiver continued assisting as needed.
Recently, the caregiver got the call she had been dreading, it was time to say goodbye. Although not scheduled to be on duty, the caregiver was beside her resident at 4:00 am, along with other team members. She supported her resident until the end, epitomizing excellent care and dedication. It is at times like this that we are reminded of all the wonderful people who work within The Legacy and who make the lives of our residents more enriched and loved every single day.
