One of our residents in the Healthcare Center longs to be in Israel. She grew up outside of Tel Aviv in the time before Israel was even a State. She can no longer travel due to her health. When the Rabbi visits, he’s found ways to connect her to the Israel she craves. One example is playing Israeli songs for her from his phone. The resident laughs and sings along with the Rabbi to the words of “The Prettiest Girl in the Garden” by Yehudith Ravitz and others. Even from her wheelchair, she is able to dance a little with the Rabbi. These visits bring smiles that nourish her soul.
