Zelene and Bob Lovitt used to live right up the street from us in Far North Dallas. Without any planning on our part, they ended up living around the corner from us on the 2nd floor here at LMP.

In 1982 I had back surgery. As part of my recovery therapy, I was urged to walk. So I would very slowly walk up the street to the Lovitt’s home. Zelene would invite me in and I would get a drink of water, rest on her couch, and we’d chat about mutual friends and events. Then I’d slowly walk back down the hill to our home.

Fast forward 40 years. In 2022 I had hip replacement surgery. As part of my recovery therapy, I was urged to walk. So I would very slowly walk around the hall to the Lovitt’s apartment. Zelene would invite me in and I would get a drink of water, rest on her couch, and we’d chat about mutual friends and events. Then I’d slowly walk back around the hall to our apartment. Some things never change.
