While recently touring The Legacy Willow Bend, Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas President & CEO, Igor Alterman, met many residents. One resident, in particular, inquired about Alterman’s background after hearing his name. She asked if he had Russian roots or spoke Russian. Alterman immediately responded in Russian. The resident’s face lit up and they talked for several minutes in Russian. The Legacy resident later explained to the group that it made her day to speak in her native language, as not many people are able to converse in the language. Alterman’s graciousness and interest in The Legacy made a wonderful impact on our residents and team members.
The Legacy is grateful to the Federation for their continued support of our Financial Assistance program (rental assistance, Medicaid long-term care, and Personal Assistance Services grant clients), Jewish Life initiative, and much more. But, more so, we are grateful for the Federation’s long-standing partnership, which has produced countless memories and support for seniors in the Jewish community.
