A Soulful Story: Financial Assistance is Important Year-Round

September 22, 2023

Feeding the Jewish Soul is a weekly series of posts that will give you insight into what The Legacy does day in day out, and how it impacts the seniors we serve.

In case you missed our email yesterday, this week’s Soulful Story is dedicated to North Texas Giving Day and The Legacy’s Financial Assistance Fund! While the big day has passed, you can still make a difference TODAY! The Legacy Senior Communities fundraises for the Financial Assistance Fund year-round.

Last year, this vital fund provided:

  • Care for 32 Medicaid (long-term, skilled nursing patients)
  • Rental assistance for 6 residents at The Legacy Midtown Park
  • Scholarships for 27 seniors Personal Assistance Services from The Legacy at Home

There is a waitlist for all our financial assistance programs!

Services benefit seniors who would otherwise not be able to experience The Legacy’s distinguished Jewish lifestyle and excellent medical care.

Since The Legacy’s founding in 1953, we have remained loyal to our mission to help those who cannot help themselves, especially at this critical time in their lives when seniors should be living with the utmost comfort and dignity. Together, let’s make a difference! Support The Legacy’s seniors now.

Make more moments like this possible by supporting The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation. It is our great honor to care for seniors. We continue to uphold the mission of our founders by providing a continuum of care to seniors and their families delivered with compassion, dignity, and excellence, while embracing our Jewish values.

Every year, The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation, with support from The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, provides more than $1 million in charitable care to Jewish seniors in the Dallas area. This care includes resident support and thousands of hours of Personal Assistance Services provided by The Legacy at Home grant program.

It is the community’s continued support that leaves an imprint on the present and future of our organization, creating a level of distinction we call The Legacy Difference. This distinction includes Jewish life initiatives, Kosher dining programming, social events and activities, resident transportation, security, and much more!

The Legacy is able to respond to the most urgent and changing needs of our residents and their families, and the growing demand for senior care and services thanks to our generous donors.

Swing by our Blog every Friday to welcome in Shabbat with a new story highlighting the life seniors live at The Legacy Senior Communities.
