COVID Update 9/25

September 25, 2021

The Legacy Willow Bend was notified overnight of one COVID positive Memory Support resident resulting from Memory Support contact tracing this week. The resident is doing well and is stable. The resident was moved to the COVID unit in the Healthcare Center.

On 9/24, The Legacy Willow Bend was also notified of two employees who are covid positive from our bi-weekly testing. One employee works in memory support and the other in health care.

Employees are still required to test weekly.  If you are not vaccinated the requirement is to test twice weekly, and for vaccinated employees one time a week.  It is imperative that we all abide by this protocol to keep the residents of The Legacy and your teammates safe from spreading COVID.

With the COVID-19 delta variant spreading and positivity rates increasing, we strongly encourage employees who are not yet vaccinated to do so.  The Delta variant is proving to be much more contagious and the symptoms more severe than COVID-19.  While vaccines are not guaranteed to prevent illness, the CDC states that vaccinated individuals are much less likely to experience the severe COVID-19 symptoms when it comes to respiratory issues, fevers, aches or gastrointestinal pains.

As of 9/17, one vaccinated employee of the Legacy Midtown Park has tested positive for Covid-19. The clinical team will continue to monitor residents and employees for symptoms. Initial results of contact tracing testing have indicated negative results.

The Legacy Willow Bend was also notified on 9/15 of a positive employee from our weekly testing. The employee works within our dining department and does not have any contact with residents at any time.

Residents who were exposed will be COVID tested per CDC guidance of 3-5 days post exposure testing of vaccinated residents. As a reminder of The Legacy protocols, residents who have experienced an exposure event should be masked in common areas and refrain from any communal dining activities until the completion of our testing protocols and as directed by management.
